Practices in Attention, Values, Wisdom and an Open Heart

The four key areas of mindfulness support and empower us to be attentive to our thoughts, feelings and the environment with clarity and discernment. They help us to make choices and act in ways that are in alignment with our values and are both healthy and beneficial. When we live mindfully, we cultivate a meaningful life, with inner peace and genuine well-being. We become the person we choose to be. 

With deep roots in the ancient wisdom and contemplative cultures, mindfulness is now recognized by modern psychology and science as a proven method to manage stress, improve attention, and acquire emotional and mental balance. Additionally, it provides many health-enhancing benefits, like reducing symptoms of stress and anxiety, relieving physical complaints like headaches, and even enhancing immunity to illness and improved health recovery. Though incredibly important, there is much more to mindfulness than simply learning to be present in the moment. Mindfulness is the ability to be present with clarity and discernment – to be able to experience life (events, people, thoughts and emotions) consciously and respond with wisdom. Ultimately, mindfulness increases one’s ability to have a calm and stable mind that is able to effectively respond in a beneficial way to challenges that arise in life.

Four Keys of Living Mindfully is an introductory online mindfulness course that supports you in developing practical skills to help you live with attention and intention in your daily life.

Enrollment includes:

  • Four live online interactive class sessions with the instructor and other participants
  • Four recorded teachings on the key areas of mindfulness
  • Four Keys Companion Journal
  • Downloadable guided meditations
  • Daily practice guide

Each week of the course focuses on cultivating understanding and practices in one of the four keys. The course consists of lecture, meditation, small group discussion, and journaling. 

This course is facilitated by John Bruna, Co-Founder of the Mindful Life Program and author of “The Wisdom of a Meaningful Life: The Essence of Mindfulness”.

 

Our online courses are limited to 20 participants to facilitate personal attention.

The course is includes 4 live online sessions of 1 hour each and 4 recorded video teachings for a total of 8 hours. In addition to personal mindfulness practice in between class meetings, there will be reading and journaling assignments. Participation in the course requires a computer with a microphone (webcam is optional), a headset and either a DSL or Cable internet connection.
