We are looking forward to our first Mindful Life Retreat at Shadowcliff Retreat Center in Grand Lake, Colorado.
Join mindfulness teacher and MLP Executive Director Laura Bartels to engage in practices and reflections of living mindfully in this three-night Mindful Life Retreat. Through a progression of meditations and journaling experiences and periods of silence in this beautiful setting, we will enhance our ability to increase resiliency and flourish while strengthening practical mindfulness approaches to daily life. Living mindfully empowers you to live your life with attention and intention, cultivating the skills to make healthy choices that are in alignment with your values and are meaningful to you.
This Mindful Life retreat at the Shadowcliff Retreat Center will focus on the four keys of living mindfully:
- Attention– Developing attention skills through meditation training.
- Wisdom– Understanding one’s biases, labeling, projection and pre-judgment. Increasing emotional intelligence and learning to respond rather than react.
- Values– Exploring your values so they can be a guiding force in your life.
- Open heart– Developing healthy relationships and connections. Cultivating skills of compassion, loving-kindness, empathic joy and equanimity.
The retreat will include periods of silence, meditation, discussion, and journaling. We recommend reading The Wisdom of a Meaningful Life: The Essence of Mindfulness prior to the retreat.
Laura Bartels is the Executive Director of the Mindful Life Program. Laura is a certified mindfulness teacher with a background that includes teaching in public schools, universities, non-profits and for professional groups and as a public speaker and presenter. See her full bio here.
Includes 3 nights accommodations, 3 meals a day and all retreat activities and materials.
