We are looking forward to our first Mindful Life Retreat at Shadowcliff Retreat Center in Grand Lake, Colorado.
Join us to engage in practices and reflections of living mindfully in this three-night Mindful Life Retreat. Through a progression of meditations and journaling experiences and periods of silence in this beautiful setting, we will enhance our ability to increase resiliency and flourish while strengthening practical mindfulness approaches to daily life. Living mindfully empowers you to live your life with attention and intention, cultivating the skills to make healthy choices that are in alignment with your values and are meaningful to you.
This Mindful Life retreat at the Shadowcliff Retreat Center will focus on the four keys of living mindfully:
- Attention– Developing attention skills through meditation training.
- Wisdom– Understanding one’s biases, labeling, projection and pre-judgment. Increasing emotional intelligence and learning to respond rather than react.
- Values– Exploring your values so they can be a guiding force in your life.
- Open heart– Developing healthy relationships and connections. Cultivating skills of compassion, loving-kindness, empathic joy and equanimity.
The retreat will include periods of silence, meditation, discussion, and journaling. We encourage reading The Wisdom of a Meaningful Life: The Essence of Mindfulness prior to the retreat, though it is not required in order to attend the retreat.
The retreat will be led by Laura Bartels. Laura helped to create the Mindful Life Program and regularly teaches mindfulness courses, leads meditations and gives public talks on living mindfully. She is also one of the teachers for the year long Mindfulness Teacher Training and Certification program offered by the Mindful Life Program. She serves as the Executive Director of the Mindful Life Program. Laura’s professional path of the last 20 years, which brought her to be a leader in the field of sustainable building and community development, provides a valuable foundation for her career in mindfulness. As Laura’s path has been one of navigating what it means to live consciously and meaningfully, it’s a natural transition to move from outer sustainability to inner sustainability, especially noting that when we are not in balance, we cannot be of benefit to ourselves nor others. See her full bio here.
Includes 3 nights accommodations, 3 meals a day and all retreat activities and materials.
