The New Mindfulness In Recovery® Online Course – Registration Opens January 8th

We have now made our course even more accessible for everyone, whether you are a treatment professional, a person in any form of recovery, or a family member. You can now enroll and begin at any time and have a choice of days and times to attend live sessions.

We are excited and grateful to be able to support you in developing the skills to cultivate more inner peace, resiliency, and joy in your life. This online course provides you with daily activities, teachings from our co-founder, John Bruna, and live sessions facilitated by Rachel Currier. With our online format, you can attend from wherever you are in the world.

This is an eight-week course open to everyone for personal development and for those working with others in the treatment field. It is experiential and focused on helping participants cultivate a daily mindfulness practice that integrates the MIR skills into daily life.

  • People in recovery (all pathways, including 12-step)

“I am a teacher and appreciate that many people can be trained to teach the curriculum. However, Dusty’s personality and demeanor make him especially suited for teaching a course like this. I don’t know that I’ve met many people who are so naturally kind and supportive.” —Liz, Recent course participant

Four Immeasurables Retreat with John Bruna

Main hall at Blazing Mountain Retreat Center

You can now attend online!

April 11-14, 2024

Hosted by the Way of Compassion Dharma Center

Our co-founder, John Bruna, will be facilitating a retreat on the Four Immeasurable Attitudes – equanimity, loving-kindness, compassion, and empathetic joy. Teachings on each of these beneficial attitudes can be found in many spiritual traditions and cultures. While they have origins in Buddhist philosophy, the benefits of cultivating the four immeasurable attitudes are universal, not bound by any particular spiritual or religious belief. In our current times, we believe the world needs us to cultivate these qualities more than ever.

In addition to helping us cultivate a healthy and open heart, which nourishes our relationship with ourselves and others, the four immeasurables are also the antidotes to unhealthy attachments and aversions, hatred, ill will, jealousy, and envy—just as turning on a light dispels the darkness, these immeasurable attitudes dissipate destructive emotions and attitudes. Needless to say, one does not need to be a Buddhist to benefit from these precious teachings, they are universal to people of all faiths, traditions, and cultures. The four immeasurables, combined with meditation and mindfulness, help us all live with more resiliency, develop our inner resources, and have more peace and joy in our lives.
